PS2 Dualshock 2 Analoge Controller

  • The standard PlayStation 2 (PS2) DualShock 2 controller features two analog sticks, two analog triggers, six pressure-sensitive buttons (two front, four shoulder), and four digital directional buttons. Key technical specifications include pressure-sensitive buttons for increased conductivity based on force, dual analog sticks with 10-bit precision, and a wired connection for power and data transmission to the console.

    Key Features

    • DualShock Functionality: Includes dual vibration motors for immersive feedback.
    • Pressure-Sensitive Buttons: All buttons except the Analog, Start, and Select buttons are analog and detect the degree of pressure applied.
    • Analog Sticks: Features twin analog sticks with 10-bit precision for finer control.
    • Analog Triggers: Two analog triggers on the front of the controller, labeled L2 and R2.
    • Digital Buttons: Includes a digital directional pad (D-pad), Start, Select, and the "PS" (PlayStation) button.
    • Connectivity: The controller connects to the PS2 console via a wired connection, which also provides power.

    How it Works

    • Pressure Sensing:

When a button is depressed, a conductive disk attached to its bottom makes contact with a conductive strip on the controller's circuit board.

    • Conductivity:

The more the button is pressed, the greater the surface area of the disk that touches the strip, which increases the level of conductivity and signals more input to the console.

    Physical Characteristics

    • Dimensions: Approximately 3.74” (95 mm) in height, 6.18” (157 mm) in width, and 2.16” (54.9 mm) in depth.
    • Weight: Around 7.4 oz (210 g).
