The PlayStation 3 (PS3) is Sony’s third home video game console, released in 2006. It introduced powerful HD gaming, built-in Blu-ray playback, and online services through the PlayStation Network.

As part of the seventh generation of consoles, the PS3 competed with Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii, eventually becoming one of Sony’s most important platforms.
