On a journey to a distant colony planet aboard the starship Avalon, passengers are in hibernation for the 120-year trip. A malfunction awakens engineer Jim Preston 90 years too early. Facing loneliness and despair, he eventually awakens fellow passenger Aurora Lane. Together, they must survive technical failures threatening the ship and confront moral dilemmas as they grow close during their isolation.
