In the near future, monstrous interdimensional creatures called Kaiju emerge from a portal in the Pacific Ocean, threatening humanity. To combat them, humanity creates Jaegers, giant piloted robots controlled by two minds linked via a neural bridge. When a new generation of Kaiju threatens total annihilation, a washed-up pilot and an untested trainee are paired to operate an old Jaeger and lead humanity’s final stand.
