The Magnavox Odyssey is the very first commercial home video game console, developed by Ralph H. Baer and released by Magnavox. It used simple black-and-white graphics with overlays for the TV screen and came with a variety of built-in games, including early versions of Pong. It was released in North America in August 1972.
