Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is the fifth main entry in the GTA series and one of the most iconic and ambitious games released for the PlayStation 2. Set in the fictional state of San Andreas (inspired by California and Nevada), it tells the story of Carl "CJ" Johnson, a former gangster who returns home after the murder of his mother, only to be drawn back into the criminal underworld.
The game spans three major cities — Los Santos, San Fierro, and Las Venturas — each based on real-world locations: Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Las Vegas, respectively.
