Grand Theft Auto 2 is an open-world action game developed by DMA Design (now Rockstar North) and published by Rockstar Games on October 22, 1999. Set in a dystopian city simply known as “Anywhere City,” the game builds upon the original’s top-down perspective with improved graphics, more interactive environments, and a dynamic reputation system. Players take on missions from rival crime gangs, engaging in car chases, shootouts, and chaotic street action that further refined the formula that would define the GTA series.
