Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back is a 3D platformer developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Computer Entertainment on October 31, 1997. The sequel to the original Crash Bandicoot, the game sees Crash once again facing Dr. Neo Cortex, who claims to have changed his ways and enlists Crash’s help to gather powerful Crystals — though his true intentions are far more sinister. Players traverse five warp rooms filled with diverse themed levels, collecting Crystals and Gems while avoiding traps and enemies. With improved controls, smoother animations, and expanded gameplay mechanics, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back refined the formula and is often hailed as one of the best entries in the series.
